Hello, I'm Christy E.

I’m a gentle​,​ patient​,​ and organized tutor who genuinely loves helping kids feel proud of themselves as learners. I work with students in Kindergarten through Grade 7​,​ offering support across all subjects — with a special love for math. I first discovered how meaningful tutoring could be when helping my niece during the pandemic. Watching her grow in confidence as she learned to read​,​ write​,​ and tackle new challenges reminded me how powerful encouragement and patience can be. My approach is adaptable and supportive​,​ especially for neurodivergent learners. I believe that everyone learns best when they feel safe​,​ understood​,​ and met right where they are. Living with my partner of 17 years​,​ who has ADHD​,​ has also shown me how we all feel​,​ think and process differently. The beauty in our uniqueness. Beyond school tutoring​,​ I also offer sessions on foundational financial and life skills for teens and adults. I bring over 35 years of experience in banking and bookkeeping​,​ and earlier in my career I earned my Certified Financial Planner designation. I’ve spent decades helping people understand the “why” behind money — budgeting​,​ tracking​,​ and setting achievable goals. My greatest joy is helping people feel capable​,​ calm​,​ and confident with their financial basics​,​ so they can build habits that support the lives they want to live.
